VOLUNTEER AT MID-OHIO FOOD BANK

Join us for one of our Community Service days as we volunteer at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 21.  (No Buckeye Football that week!)  We will be assisting shoppers in the pantry from 11 am to 1:30 pm, so you would need to arrive by 10:45 am to get instructions.  The pantry is located at 3960 Brookham Drive, in Grove City.  A map with details and a training video will be sent to you when you RSVP to help.

To sign up, please call or email our Community Service Chair, Ron Kenat, at 614-420-2736 or abelcom123@yahoo.com.  Thank you for helping us “Pay it Forward” in true Buckeye Spirit!

EXAM WEEK GOODIE BAGS

Don’t forget to save your leftover Halloween candy!! The
Franklin County OSU Alumni Club will be putting together
goodie bags again this year for students. Candy, gum,
pencils, any little trinkets you think a college kid would
appreciate to help stay awake while studying for fall
semester exams — bring it to us!
We will collect items at our next two meetings, Weds,
Oct. 11 and Nov. 8, or you can contact us to arrange a
drop off or pick up. We will schedule a packing night to
put the bags together in mid-November.
Then we will schedule a night in early December just
before exams to deliver them to the dorm. This has to be
arranged with the resident advisor for that hall, so we do
not have an exact date yet.
You are welcome to participate in any of the three steps –
– gathering supplies, packing the bags, or delivering. Just
send us an email or call to let us know what you can do.

OPERATION BUCKEYE

As most of you know, the holidays will be here before you know it.  For those who have friends and family serving in our military services overseas, it can be a difficult time. There is a wonderful organization called Operation Buckeye, whose volunteers pack and ship thousands of care packages each year to these military personnel.  We want to help provide as many items as possible this year for their shipments.

Click Here for:  Operation Buckeye Item List of the most-requested items from our service-members.  If you are able to provide some items from this list, would you please contribute to our club’s donation to Operation Buckeye?
We will make it as easy as possible:  You gather the items, and we can arrange either a pickup from you, or a place for you to drop them off.

Thank you so much for your generosity, to help those who are defending our freedom!
