EXAM WEEK GOODIE BAGS

Don’t forget to save your leftover Halloween candy, or buy an extra bag for us!! The Franklin County OSU Alumni Club will be putting together goodie bags again this year for students. Candy, gum, pencils, any small items you think a college kid would appreciate, to help stay awake while studying for fall semester exams — bring it to us!

We will collect items at our next two meetings, Weds, Oct. 9 and Nov. 13, or you can contact us to arrange a drop off or pick up. We will be packing the bags immediately following our November 13 meeting.  The packing process takes less than an hour if we have enough hands to help. Then we will schedule a night in early December just before exams to deliver them to the dorm. This has to be arranged with the resident advisor for that hall, so we do not have an exact date yet.

You are welcome to participate in any of the three steps – gathering supplies, packing the bags, or delivering. Just send us an email or call to let us know what you can do.

SPECIAL EXHIBIT: OHIO’S HISTORY IN SPORTS

The Ohio History Center is celebrating our state’s rich history in athletics with a special exhibit entitled “Truly a Champion of Sports.”
This display covers over a hundred years of sports history in Ohio, from early baseball days and Jesse Owens’ track and field accomplishments, to the beginnings of football and pioneers in auto racing, women’s basketball, boxing, and more.  See Lebron James’ first basketball jersey and learn about the Ohio Roller Derby.  Check out their website link below for more details.
The Franklin County OSU Alumni Club has organized a special group tour for our members, on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 2:00 pm.
