WINE BISTRO DINNER WEDS OCT 21

Another event which got cancelled in the wake of the quarantine is our club favorite Wine Tasting dinner at the Wine Bistro on Lane Avenue in April. So we have re-scheduled this event for Wednesday, October 21, from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Due to limits on the number of people allowed to gather, we cannot take any additional reservations for this event now.  Those of you who told us to keep you on the list for when the event is rescheduled, you will receive an email to confirm your availability on the new date. If multiple people cancel and we have available seats, we will advertise them to the rest of the membership.

BOOK CLUB DINNER WITH API SOCIETY

Our book club dinner date with the OSU Asian-Pacific Islander Alumni Society was cancelled in March, so we are setting a new date to meet!  Now you have time to review the book (to remember what you read in the spring!).

We will discuss the memoir written by Aarti Shahani called “Here We Are: American Dreams, American Nightmares.”  It is the story of a family who came to the US from India in the 1980’s, dealing with being undocumented, obtaining their green cards, the unforeseen obstacles that propelled them into years of disillusionment and heartbreak, and the strength of a family determined to stay together.

Our alumni club will pick up the tab for Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 pm, when we meet with the Asian- Pacific Islander Alumni Society that evening at the Hunan Lion restaurant (2038 Crown Plaza Drive, Columbus). The author has agreed to join us by Zoom call to discuss the book!

Please Email us (include your name and phone number) at OSUAlumniFranklinCounty@yahoo.com  to let us know you still wish to participate, so we can send you details about the dinner as it approaches.  If you have questions, please contact Mary at 614-323-5379.

TAILGATE LUNCH FOR OSU POLICE WEDS SEPT 9

We’ll be serving a “Tailgate” style lunch, so we need a few folks to help set it up, and a few to clean up after. Join us for this great opportunity to give back to those who serve and protect the students and staff of our great campus!

We’ll have two shifts: we need some people to help set-up and serve from 12:30 to 3 pm, and some people to serve then help clean up from 3 to 5:00 pm

Sign up to participate by emailing us at (OSUAlumniFranklinCounty@yahoo.com) with your name, phone # and email address, and which shift you’re available for.

Come help us say “Thank You!” to these hard-working individuals!
