Our second drawing in our annual raffle of our Presidents Club football tickets was completed October 5 for the Maryland, Penn State, and Purdue games.  But we still have one more game this season!

Remember, all money raised thru raffle tickets goes directly to our Scholarship fund to help a future Buckeye.

These are great seats, in section 16C ROW 1, with seatbacks! Tickets for the raffle are $5 for 1 chance, $25 for 6 chances or $50 for 13 chances.  Order now!

We are not allowed to sell the raffle tickets on our website. Send checks (payable to “OSU Alumni Club of Franklin County”) to Jerry Vance, 5625 Pleasant Hill Drive, Hilliard, OH 43026.  Include your phone number and email address so we can reach you after the drawings.

The final drawing will be held at our  November 10 club meeting for tickets to the Michigan State home finale on November 23.   Everyone is welcome to attend the drawings.

FYI:  You will need a smart phone to access the tickets — OSU Football tickets are all digital this year.

Money must be received by noon on November 10 for the final drawing. For questions contact Jerry Vance, or 614-316-0852.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to our scholarship fund, which needs a serious boost since we were not able to have any fundraisers last year!

Help Us Keep Columbus Beautiful!

Please join your Franklin County OSU Alumni Club in our fall Community Service event as we help “Keep Columbus Beautiful” by cleaning up Academy Park on Saturday, October 16 (don’t worry, football fans, this is a bye week).

We will meet at 10 am in Academy Park, 276 South Nelson Road, Columbus 43205 (just south of Broad Street, near the Franklin Park Conservatory).  All the supplies we need will be provided (bags, trash-grabbers, etc.) but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer.

After we clean up the park for a couple of hours, we’ll head just up the road to the Old Bag of Nails Pub (18 North Nelson Road) for some lunch!

Please sign up to attend by emailing your name and cell phone number to Karyn Johnson,  If weather or anything forces a change that morning, we will contact you by 9 am that day.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Karyn by email or at 614-822-1430.

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, our alumni club will show appreciation for the OSU Police Dept by serving lunch for all the officers as well as their administrative staff. This event was extremely popular last year and the police department is glad to have us back.

We’ll be grilling and serving a “Tailgate” style lunch, so we need a few folks to help set it up, and a few to clean up after. Join us for this great opportunity to give back to those who serve and protect the students and staff of our great campus!

We’ll have two shifts: we need some people to help set-up and serve from 12:30 to 3 pm, and some people to serve then help clean up from 3 to 5:00 pm

Sign up to participate by emailing us at ( with your name, phone # and email address, and which shift you’re available for.

Come help us say “Thank You!” to these hard-working individuals!

Football is back in the Horseshoe, and the stadium will be at full capacity this year!  We will hold our annual tailgate for the Akron game on Sept. 25, because that is also Alumni Marching Band day.  Come see 800+ TBDBITL alumni perform the quadruple Script Ohio!

Our tailgate is located on the top (6th) floor of the Tuttle Garage (on the corner of Tuttle Park Place and Ives Drive). For only $10 / person, you can enjoy all of the food and beverages you wish. This is a family friendly event, so feel free to bring the kids.  Whether or not you are attending the game, come for the party!

By Athletic Dept. decision, tickets this year are all-digital; there will be nothing printed. You will need a “smart phone” to purchase them and to show them for access into the stadium.

The Driven Foundation Annual Backpack Giveback

The Driven Foundation, started by former football players Roy Hall and Antonio Smith, provides school supplies to children in need.  There are two ways to participate: you can purchase school supplies, or donate to the organization to help them buy the supplies.

If you prefer to purchase items, here is a list of things they could use:

Spiral Ring Notebooks (wide ruled)

Composition Notebooks (wide ruled)

Glue Sticks

“Block” Erasers (rectangle pink or white)

#2 Pencils (Not Mechanical Pencils)

Pencil Sharpeners

24 Count Crayola Crayon Boxes

Packages of Colored Pencils

Loose Leaf Wide Ruled Paper

If you choose to purchase items, you are welcome to bring them to our August 11 alumni club meeting, and we will take care of delivering them.  The meeting will be at 6 pm at the MCL Cafeteria in the Kingsdale shopping center in Upper Arlington.

Thank you for considering participation in this community service program.  DEADLINE to participate is August 11.

Join us for an evening with the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park in the Arena District, on Saturday August 14.  We are organizing a block of tickets and reserving a gathering table area. This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids / grandkids!

Let’s fill the Clippers stands with Buckeye cheer!

We need to welcome new members to our club! Social opportunities were so limited last year, that we have not met those of you who have recently joined us. If you would like to meet some members of the club, plan to join us on Saturday, June 19 from 4 to 6 pm at a small gathering (hopefully outdoors if the weather cooperates!) in Powell.

We will have a variety of sandwiches, snacks and beverages, tailgate style!  If you want to dress up in your Buckeye gear like you’re going to the Stadium, that is totally acceptable!  Bring a lawn chair / tailgate chair if the weather is nice, so we can relax and talk and have a little fun in the sun.

If you have joined our club within the past year, and have not yet had a chance to join us for an event or meet anyone, then we really want to encourage you to join us for this event. Come meet our leadership team, ask questions about the club, and see how much fun we are!  There is no cost to attend, simply RSVP to!  Tell us your name, phone number, and how many people are coming. This is a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring yours!  We will send you a map / directions when we reply to confirm. Questions?  Call Leyla at 614-893-0559.
