SCHOLARSHIP BANQUET WEDS JUNE 5

Our annual scholarship banquet will be held Wednesday, June 5 at the Longaberger Alumni House and will feature Joshua Perry from the 2014 National Champion Buckeyes football team.

The banquet includes our annual silent auction scholar-ship fundraiser, as well as the culmination of the year’s events for our alumni club. Our newest scholarship recipient for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year will be introduced.

Perry was the team leader in tackles during the 2014 inaugural CFP Championship run, and was named to the First Team All-Big Ten roster his senior year. After a few years in the NFL, he has come back to Columbus and is the Founder and CEO of the Joshua Perry Family Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to helping children with a variety of life challenges.  He and his family exemplify the “Pay It Forward” Buckeye spirit by giving much time and energy to the annual Buckeye Cruise for Cancer.  You can learn more about Joshua’s work on his website: joshuaperryff.org/foundation

TOUR THE NEW NATIONAL VETERANS MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM

Our club has arranged an opportunity for you to tour the brand new National Veterans Memorial and Museum in downtown Columbus on Saturday, May 18 at 2:30PM. This is one of the few national monuments outside of Washington DC – our late senator / astronaut John Glenn was instrumental in building this special tribute right here in Columbus.

The museum opened in late October of 2018, and is a living tribute to the over 40 million Americans who have served this nation since its founding.  It is a beautiful addition to the downtown Columbus landscape.
