TAILGATE PARTY FOR AKRON GAME

Football is back in the Horseshoe, and the stadium will be at full capacity this year!  We will hold our annual tailgate for the Akron game on Sept. 25, because that is also Alumni Marching Band day.  Come see 800+ TBDBITL alumni perform the quadruple Script Ohio!

Our tailgate is located on the top (6th) floor of the Tuttle Garage (on the corner of Tuttle Park Place and Ives Drive). For only $10 / person, you can enjoy all of the food and beverages you wish. This is a family friendly event, so feel free to bring the kids.  Whether or not you are attending the game, come for the party!

GAME TICKETS:
By Athletic Dept. decision, tickets this year are all-digital; there will be nothing printed. You will need a “smart phone” to purchase them and to show them for access into the stadium.

MEMBERSHIP WELCOME EVENT JUNE 19

We need to welcome new members to our club! Social opportunities were so limited last year, that we have not met those of you who have recently joined us. If you would like to meet some members of the club, plan to join us on Saturday, June 19 from 4 to 6 pm at a small gathering (hopefully outdoors if the weather cooperates!) in Powell.

We will have a variety of sandwiches, snacks and beverages, tailgate style!  If you want to dress up in your Buckeye gear like you’re going to the Stadium, that is totally acceptable!  Bring a lawn chair / tailgate chair if the weather is nice, so we can relax and talk and have a little fun in the sun.

If you have joined our club within the past year, and have not yet had a chance to join us for an event or meet anyone, then we really want to encourage you to join us for this event. Come meet our leadership team, ask questions about the club, and see how much fun we are!  There is no cost to attend, simply RSVP to OSUAlumniFranklinCounty@yahoo.com!  Tell us your name, phone number, and how many people are coming. This is a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring yours!  We will send you a map / directions when we reply to confirm. Questions?  Call Leyla at 614-893-0559.

TOUR THE VETERANS MUSEUM WITH US

Please consider joining us on as we celebrate the re-opening of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. We will be organizing a guided tour on Saturday, May 22, at 1:00 pm.  This amazing facility is a national monument, on par with the ones you may have visited in Washington DC.  It was the dream of our late Senator and astronaut John Glenn, for this museum to be built here in Ohio.

The tour guides will break us into small groups to maintain social distancing, and you are also welcome to walk thru the exhibits on your own, if you don’t want to stay with the group. There are displays, videos, interactive presentations, and so much else to see and do!  If you want to learn more about the museum, their website is NationalVMM.org.

We are co-hosting this event with the USG Alumni Society, so if you were involved with student government while you were a student at OSU, you may run into some old friends!

Discounted tickets are sold out, but you are welcome to join the group with regular admission at the door.

If you would like to send a check (make it payable to “Franklin County OSU Alumni Club”) mail to Leyla Hawkins, 1149 Tillicum Drive, Worthington, OH 43085. Group Discount Rate: $12 for Adults, $8 for Children 6-17, and Veterans are FREE. Please include your name, phone number, and email address (and the number of people you’re bringing) with your check payment, so that we can contact you to confirm.
