SOCIAL COMMITTEE WORKING ON FALL EVENTS

The Social committee met last week to work on several summer events. We are now looking ahead to Fall events – football tailgate, Happy Hour with the Alumni Leadership Conference, Wine tastings, even the holiday events are starting to be planned. If you would like to join this active committee of volunteers, please get in touch with Mary Hemmer, 459-5752. The committee will meet again probably in late summer, to focus on details of these and other events.

TARGET SHOOT SET FOR AUGUST 8

Our annual Target Shooting Day at the Range will be Saturday, August 8, from 11 am to 2 pm. It is at the same great location as previous years, Tri-County Range on US 22 between Lancaster and Circleville. You are welcome to bring your own guns and ammunition, or rent/purchase from the range. You will have an opportunity to learn about and try out a variety of different guns if you wish. If you have never tried this, it is a great experience! Eye and ear protection will be provided at no charge. Its only $10 per person to attend, and lunch will be provided. PICNIC WITH THE POPS AUGUST 1

It’s time once again for fun on the lawn! For the first time in a few years, we will revive our traditional excursion to Picnic with the Pops, featuring the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the OSU Marching Band, will be held on Saturday, August 1, at the new home of the Pops series, the lawn of the Columbus Commons. Details are still being worked out, but we will be joining our friends from the College of Education Alumni Society and other alumni for this annual performance. Please keep the date open and keep watching your email, future newsletters, and our website for further details. Go Bucks!

HAPPY HOUR AT THE FACULTY CLUB

Join us for our fourth annual Happy Hour at the OSU Faculty Club on campus Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 pm. This is an opportunity for those of you who are not members of the Faculty Club to see the facility and sample some food and beverages, as well as time to socialize with other Buckeye Alumni. There is plenty of parking available around the Faculty Club. Some complementary hors d’oeuvres will be provided, along with a cash bar; additional appetizers are available as well. There is also a dinner following the event, if you wish to stay. To attend the Happy Hour, please sign up in advance online, by mail, or by phone for just $5, so we know how many to expect. Driving and parking pass directions will be sent when you register.
