Our Community Service team will partner again with the Driven Foundation to help provide school supplies to underprivileged children. Former Buckeye football star Roy Hall Jr. heads up this organization, which provides a variety of activities throughout the year for children in the Columbus area.  Help us collect these items for their “Backpack Giveback.”

Join us for an evening with the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park in the Arena District, on Saturday, August 5, at 7 pm. We are organizing a block of reserved seats. This is a family friendly event, so bring the kids or grandkids!

This event will be free to all club members and their families.  Simply email us at OSUAlumniFranklinCounty@yahoo.com with your name, phone number, and the number of people in your party.  There is limited seating in the facility, so reserve your seats early!

We want to welcome our new members to our club!  If you recently joined our club and have not yet had the chance to participate in an event or meet our members, plan to join us on Saturday, June 3 from 12 to 2 pm at a meet & greet picnic at the Longaberger Alumni House/

We will have a variety of sandwiches, snacks and beverages, tailgate style!  We will be indoors, but there is room to go outside if the weather cooperates.  If you want to dress up in your Buckeye gear, that is totally acceptable!  Bring a lawn / tailgate chair if the weather is nice, so we can relax and talk and have a little fun in the sun.

At the tailgate / picnic noted above, we will have a variety of donated Buckeye items available for purchase.  All proceeds will go directly to our scholarship fund, so we can continue to provide local high school seniors with financial assistance to attend OSU.  We have awarded over $50,000 in scholarships in the last 10 years. Please support our fundraiser by donating items or purchasing items at the event.

Union Cemetery is the final resting place for several distinguished Ohio State greats, including Woody & Anne Hayes, Chic Harley, basketball coaches Fred Taylor and Lynn St John, as well as Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas.

Save the morning of Saturday May 6 for a guided walking tour of the highlights and history of this unique final resting place for many notables. We’ll meet our guide at 10 am for a walk thru history, then grab lunch together afterwards.

Over the past 11 years, the OSU Alumni Club of Franklin County has awarded $50,500 in scholarships to incoming first-year students from Franklin County high schools.
